Well folks, the weather is about to get really good. Many of the weather reports are predicting air temps around 60 degrees and even some sun this weekend!
The down side is that most local streams are now closed until April 15 when trout season opens. If in doubt, refer to the PFBC website for details on closed streams and special regulations. The upside is that there are always some fishable waters here in central Pennsylvania.
John at John’s Bait & Tackle in Bellefonte, PA says that fisherman are having great luck in Spring Creek catching good numbers of trout and good size. Depending on where you are fishing, Spring Creek is subject to specific rules regarding acceptable tackle/bait. John reported fisherman are using various flies and live bait for catch trout. The favorite live bait at the moment is meal worms. Many fisherman are also reporting catching fish on rigged minnows.
