Centre County Fishing Report 4/29/06

Well folks this could shape up to be a very nice fishing week end. Warm temperatures in the high 60’s and sunny skies are predicted throughout the weekend. Trout fishing should be excellent this weekend. Also, with the warm weather panfish like crappie and perch should be strapping on the feed bag. Those of you who are headed for Sayers Dam, Bald Eagle State Park should be in for some good fishing
We had some rain this week which should help improve the fishing. The local steams like the Bald Eagle Creek. Black Moshanon Creek, and Spring Creek have risen to almost idea levels for fishing. Don’t worry though, the streams are not muddy. Most are just slightly murky which again is idea for fishing. Fisherman can expect trout to be taken on variety of baits such as meal worms, wax worms, and night crawlers.
Given the recent rains, red worms would probably be the top live bait on my list for the local trout. In-line spinners will “shine” (pardon the pun) this weekend. I’d recommend something with a gold blade given current water conditions and the fact that we should have lots of sun this weekend.
