PFBC 2006 Press Release - Raystown Logbook
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are asking anglers who fish Raystown Lake to participate in an angler logbook program. This looks like an excellent opportunity for anglers to provide information that will help the PFBC better understand how to manage the great fishery we have at Raystown. I for one am looking forward to seeing the results of the survey and other data that they will be collecting. On the other hand, a couple of things do concern me about this survey. First, if the sample of volunteer angler is small, it may not be representative of normal fishing pressures/catches that the lake receives. Second, I wonder if we will see policy based on angler behavior rather then fish behavior and biology. Just a couple random thoughts.
