Proposed Changes to List of Pennsylvania Wild Trout Waters

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is considering changes to the current list of approved wild trout waters. There are several proposals to be discussed which include taking streams off the list, adding some streams to the list, and making amendments to some of the streams currently on the list. Most importantly they are inviting anyone who has comments to submit them in writing or via the web.
It is the policy of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission to accurately identify and classify stream sections supporting naturally reproducing populations of trout as wild trout streams. The listing of a stream section as a wild trout stream is a biological designation that does not determine how it is managed. The Commission relies upon many factors in determining the appropriate management of streams.
At the next Commission meeting on April 16 and 17, 2007, the Commission will consider changes to its list of wild trout streams.
