A few hours on the water today yielded a few bass. My fishing buddy and I caught a combined total of twelve smallmouth bass. All the fish were caught on a combination of soft crawfish imitations and Yum Dingers. The bite was very light today for some reason and I missed almost as many fish as I hooked up with. I threw together a very brief video clip of a couple of the fish we caught.
These guys are having a great time fly fishing in one of the many outstanding trout streams in central Pennsylvania. The fish are rising and the action is non stop, not to mention these guys make it entertaining with blow by blow commentary.
I did some wading and fishing on the Little Juniata River, Pennsylvania today and had some mixed success. I landed 9 smallmouth bass between 10 and 13 inches. Definitely nothing to write home about but all and all it was a great day on the water and I feel as if I learned something about the river. In my book that’s time well spent!
This is a great video of fly fishing on the Sinnemahoning Creek, Pennsylvania. I decided to post the video more for it’s entertainment value rather than instructional value. It’s a well done piece of video.
Hills Creek Lake is a 136 acre impoundment located within Hills Creek State Park. Area 4 biologists sampled Hills Creek Lake in 2003, 2005, and 2007 as part of a statewide study of special regulations on panfish. Hills Creek Lake is managed with conventional panfish regulations, so it served as a control water for the statewide study.
