Well, I landed my first 20 plus inch smallmouth of the season and in a very unlikely small Pennsylvania stream. The fish measured 20.5 inches of lean mean bronzeback. I don’t have any video of the fish being caught but I do have a couple of stills taken after the catch. The quality is a little off because I had to set the camera on a rock and use the auto timer. The slightly upward tilt of the camera caused the picture to “wash out” a little but the smallmouth is clearly visible.

I started the day with high expectations. We made the early morning drive to Kettle Creek, Pennsylvania in search of some good smallmouth bass fishing. The sky’s were overcast which was another reason for my optimism. Once we hit the water my optimism quickly dropped off. It took us a while to get our first bites. The fisher very finicky. Bites where very light and we missed far more fish than the three we eventually landed. All the fish were between 10 and 13 inches. We also captured a quick video clip of the action just for fun. Check the video out and the rest of my report.
