Smallmouth Bass Fishing Report

creek1-1-small.jpgI hit a nice little stretch of stream today in search of some hard fighting smallmouth bass. I was not disappointed. I landed over twenty bass in about two hours of fishing. Some were dinks but I caught a few nice fish as well. To read more just follow the link below.

I took my usual summer approach and covered the water thoroughly. I landed over 20 smallmouth bass in about two hours of fishing. Yes, some were dinks but I caught a 15, 14, and a 13.5 inch smallmouth bass. the largest bass was caught in less than one foot of water. I also caught a handful of bass between 12 and 13 inches. Not too bad for two hours of wading. All fish were caught on a texposed 4″ Yum Dinger in pumpkin and chartreuse. I used Gamakatsu Extra Wide Gap Hooks (EWG). No weight was used. For more details of how I approached the water you can check out my recent article on tactics for small stream smallmouth bass.
