Largemouth bass caught while kayak fishing the Potomac River
I was recently invited to join the pro staff of Temple Fork Outfitters (TFO) which is a rod manufacturer based in Texas. They are well known for their fly rods but have recently teamed with Gary Loomis to offer some outstanding freshwater spinning and casting rods. Gary’s name is synonymous with quality in the rod building world! I’m definitely excited to be part of the TFO team!
This is pretty amazing. Several years ago when I started this blog I never really thought it would move in this direction…but I’m definitely having fun!..and fishing!
While I’m writing, I might as well tell you folks about a couple other recent developments.
I’ll be doing several more kayak fishing seminars during May and June. At the moment, many of the dates are tentative but I will add them to the calendar of events here on my blog once I’ve firmed things up.
I’ve also been doing some writing for an on-line site smallmouths.com and a new monthly magazine Susquehanna Fishing Magazine. You can check out my articles on-line or pick up the magazine. Both are great fishing resources.
Last but not least, I’m getting really close to 100 email subscribers! To subscribe and get email updates of new posts just look to the upper right hand corner of the page..you’ll see the sign-up form. I will only send you emails that there is a new post on the site…no junk stuff!
I’ve probably bored you enough already so I’ll stop writing. This month will definitely offer some great fishing. Get those kayaks out of the garage and get to fishing!

congrats Juan! I saw a few months ago TFO has Gary Loomis designing bass rods for them.. when you get some rods and try them out. try and write a review on them!
Thanks Jimmy!
Congrats! Its amazing how much can happen when your passionate about something. I just found that susquehanna magazine last week, there’s some great stuff in there!
Congrats, Juan… TFO seems to be a well respected company. You two should make an excellent match.
Great article in last months “Susquehanna Fishing” BTW… Definitely the finest piece in that issue. You do a fine job.
Nate thanks! I’m very excited about this opportunity. It is a great company with quality rods!
TFO is a great company! I’m really excited about this!
Thanks for the props on the article. I get lucky from time to time and write a good one.:)
Congrats Juan and keep at it.
Thanks john!
Excellent Juan! Looking forward to your review on one of the rods.
