Cabin Fever Finally got the best of me! I headed out for the lower part of spring creek armed with my trusty spinning rod and some home made spinners. I was also wearing the newest addition to my fishing gear. A Dry-Plus wading jacket by By Cabelas. I’ve worn the jacket a few times this winter while fishing and I plan to post a review of the jacket in the very near future. The fishing results were mixed but all and all a pretty darn good hour or so on the water. Just what the doctor ordered!

I headed out today to try my luck on the Juniata River for some smallmouth bass. I wanted to explore a new section of the river and was uncertain about the depth and flow so I left my trusty river jon at home and did some wading. Three hours of fishing yielded some excellent action and a nice 18.5 inch smallmouth bass.

This is the second installment describing my quest to catch a smallmouth bass I have named “Clint”. To get up to speed read my first post about me vs. the smallmouth bass. There comes a time in every smallmouth bass fisherman’s life that he or she is haunted by a particular bass. For the past four weeks one such bass has eluded me. This smallmouth bass is no monster by any stretch of the imagination but I estimate it to be 17 plus. That being said it is a nice fish given the stream size and the fact that the hole it calls home is no more than 4 yards wide. Feel free to read on about my epic battle with the bass I have come to call “Clint”.

I hit a nice little stretch of stream today in search of some hard fighting smallmouth bass. I was not disappointed. I landed over twenty bass in about two hours of fishing. Some were dinks but I caught a few nice fish as well. To read more just follow the link below.
